Once she heard of the fire that broke out in Qatar’s Vilaggio Mall leading to the death of 19 people among which were 13 children, Lebanese singer Elissa immediately wrote on her official page on the internet social network Twitter a letter of condolences to al Qatari children and the families of the victims.
The letter of condolences, which is similar to many written by a number of stars, gave rise to criticism among active members on different social networks due to the fact that it showed hypocrisy among stars that completely ignored the recent Houla Massacre in the Syrian city Homs. It was stated that many stars did not pay any kind of condolences to the victims of the massacre that took the lives of more than 113 citizen among which were 50 children.
Active members questioned and wondered why Elissa ignored the tragic event in Syria especially since she is half Syrian from her mother’s side and only took the time to mourn the children in Qatar.
