Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfiq is currently preparing to begin his tour around the Middle East starting off in Oman. On January 14th Ehab will begin the first leg of his Arab world tour at the Muscat Festival in Oman. His next stop will be in Dubai where he will hold three concerts during the inauguration of the 2003 Dubai Shopping Festival, the Egyptian weekly Al Nojoom reported.

Ehab is scheduled to return to Egypt after performing in Dubai for exactly 48 hours to relax and then set off once more to Kuwait to take part in the Hello February Festival. The singer had made it a point before beginning his tour to spend quality time with his family and celebrate his birthday.

On a different note, Ehab will take part in the operetta entitled al Tariq Ela al Quds (The Road to Jerusalem) written by Egyptian poet and screenwriter Medhat al Adel, which describes the massacres committed by the Israeli soldiers against the Palestinian people.

“Musician Salah al Sharnoubi composed the music for the new operetta which will be performed by a number of song stars in the Arab world. The artwork will be similar to the two operettas, al Hulm al Arabi (The Arab Dream) and al Quds Hatergaa Lina (We will Restore Jerusalem),” al Adel said.

A large number of Arab singers to participate in “the musical epic”, and all of them have denoted their salaries to the Palestinian people. Among the participants performing with Ehab are Hani Shaker, Angham, and Nadia Mustafa (from Egypt), Syrian singer Assala Nassri and Samira Saaid from Morocco. The operetta celebrates the Palestinian people’s resistance of the Israeli savage aggressions, and their heroic spirit which is the beginning of liberating Jerusalem. – Albawaba.com
