President Hosni Mubarak has awarded Arts and Sciences Medals to the stars of the film Ayyam Al Sadat (Sadat Days).

Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat Al Sherif told the press that the president had praised the "historical movie that revived the legend of the nation" as he presented the awards on Sunday.

Mubarak watched the movie in a special screening last week.

Sherif added that the president decided to award the first-degree medals to Ahmed Zaki, who played the late president Sadat, as well as to director Mohamed Khan and scriptwriter Ahmed Bahgat.

Actresses Mervat Amin and Mona Zaki, who played Sadat’s wife at different stages of her life, received second-degree medals of the same kind.

Ahmed Al Saqa, who played the role of the late president’s brother who died in the 1973 October War, received also the same medal, in spite of the fact that his role in the movie was limited to one scene that did not exceed 45 seconds – Albawaba.com
