The Egyptian Artistic Associations Union headed by al Sayyed Radhi asked the cinema industry chamber of commerce in Egypt, its distribution members and owners of screening venues to boycott or halt temporarily the screening of American films due to the American stance advocating Israel which is launching fierce war against the armless Palestinians and their besieged president Yaser Arafat, according to the daily al Ahram.

On the other hand, the Artistic Associations Union issued a statement on behalf of the Egyptian artists calling all the world’s creative people and artists for immediate actions in collaboration with the international organizations to lift the siege imposed on the Palestinian National Authority. The statement called for protecting the Palestinian Authority infrastructure against the Israeli destruction and ensuring that president Arafat wouldn’t be harmed by the Israelis.

The statement also called for boycotting the Israeli goods and the formation of an international force to protect the Palestinian people from the repressive Israeli war machine -- Albawaba.com
