Egypt, Scandinavian Countries to Hold Modern Dance Fest

The fourth session of the Modern Theatrical Dancing Festival organized by Egypt and the Scandinavian countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark) will kick off on June 5, 2002 and continue until the end of the month, according to the daily al Gomhuria. 

The festival’s dance shows will be held at the Opera House’s Grand, Small and Gomhuria stages. Eight troupes from North Europe and four Egyptian troupes will participate in the show including Modern Dancing Theatrical troupe led by Walid Awni in addition to the private troupes led by Mohammed Shafiq, Karimah Mansour and Karim al Tunisi. 

However, three sessions of the festival were held before and in which Egypt participated along with Belgium, France and Germany. 

A press conference will be held on the sidelines of the festival Monday evening at the Opera House and will be attended by representatives from the embassies of the four north European countries in Cairo along with the festival head, Nabil Awni -- Albawaba.com
