Various and sundry stars and starlets collected their awards at the closing ceremony of the Egyptian National Film Festival on Sunday evening at the Cairo Opera House.
The festivities included the distribution of prizes to the winners of the narrative and short documentary film contests, according to the Egyptian daily Al Ahram.
The film Short Wa Fanillah Wa Kab (Short, Undershirt and a Gown) won five prizes: best film (100,000 pounds), best direction (Said Hamed), best photography (Sameh Salim), best actor (Ahmed Al Saqqa) and best montage (Maha Rushdi).
The film Al A’sefah (The Storm) won five prizes: second production, best actress (Yusra), best music (Kamal Al Tawil), best first direction (Khaled Yousef ) and second best actress (Hanan Al Tork).
The film Kursi Fil Club (Chair in the Club) won three prizes: third production prize, decoration prize (Mukhtar Abdel Jawad) and special prize for director (Sameh Al Bajouri).
The film Al A’shiqan (Two Lovers) won the prize for the best script (Kawther Haikal), while the film Film Thaqafi (Cultural Film) won the prize for best supporting actor (Fathi Abdel Wahab).
In the documentary and short film contest, the film Tahrik Al Shajarah (Tree Moving), directed by Sahar Mohammed Ahmed, won the prize for best film. The film Wasat Al Balad (Downtown), directed by Amir Yousef, won the prize for the best narrative and short film. Also, the film Namoothaj Tahani by Hala Lutfi won the prize for the best documentary film of less than 15 minutes in length.
The film Wajhan Fil Fadaa (Two Faces in Space) by Samir Ouf won the prize for the best documentary film of more than 15 minutes in length.
The ceremony also honored the late writer Saad Eddin Wahbeh, whose wife, the artist Samiha Ayyoub, accepted a award in his place - Albawaba.com
