A number of Egyptian actors and performers are preparing to head to Saudi Arabia to perform the religious pilgrimage of the ‘Hajj,’ a new trend in the entertainment world.

The stars gathered at a fancy hotel in Cairo to receive a briefing on the Hajj and what they will be doing along their pilgrimage. The stars in attendance included controversial Egyptian belly dancer Dina, actor Muna Zaki and her husband actor Ahmad Hilmi, Sherif Muneer, and others.

Dina recently took part in the Ramadan television drama series “Raya and Iskyna” starring Egyptian actors Abla Kamel and Summaya Al Khashab. The drama is based on the folktale of two sisters who killed women and stole their jewelry.

Dina was nominated by director Jamal Abdul Hamid to play the role of a woman who is accused of acting as an accomplice to murder. It was rumored that Dina demanded a high salary and wanted her name to appear at the beginning of the credits.  Dina denied rumors that she presented a set of demands before accepting the part.

Recently an appeals court in Cairo acquitted Egyptian businessman Hussam Abu El Fotooh of all charges in the case against him for allegedly filming pornographic videos of Dina, his ex-wife. The pornographic CD was filmed in Hussam’s home and office in London, and was later leaked to the public and posted on the internet.
