Twenty-six year old Lebanese singer, Diana Haddad, confirmed last week news circulating about her plan to star in a new movie marking her acting debut with her husband, director Suheil Al Abdoul.
The Lebanese daily, Al Anwar, reported on Saturday that the idea of an acting debut had earlier crossed Haddad's mind when Egyptian singer, Mustafa Amar, offered her a supporting role in a musical that got cancelled shortly thereafter.
When asked about her future projects, the singer told the newspaper that she was finally able to find a nice script, which made her rethink her acting debut. She explained that shooting will start earlier next near, directed by her husband, Suheil Al Abdoul. “We have not yet chosen the actors for the movie, but I believe that the project would be a great success.”
On another note, Haddad sang on October 23 to a 7000-strong audience at the University of Bahrain, on the occasion of the Bahrain's first presidential elections since 1973. The concert, which witnessed the participation of several ‘Khaliji’ (Gulf-Arab) singers, was attended by Bahrain’s King Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Born on October 1, 1976, Haddad's musical career was kicked off, in 1992 after her participation in the popular TV show Studio Al Fan, where she sang her first song entitled "Tayr Al Yamama" (The Dove). –Albawaba.com
