Despite allegedly turning down her fist offer to be an actress, famous Lebanese TV announcer Razan Al Moughrabi has agreed on making a second attempt to appear in front of a camera. Razan has initially accepted an offer to star in a new film “Shaiateen Al Jama’a” (University Devils).
According to Al Maw’ed magazine, the leading role is done by actor Hani Salamah who was able to convince Razan to be in the movie after she turned down his first offer to participate in the movie “Halet Hob” (A Dose of Love), saying that she felt the time has not come for her to go into an acting career preferring to dedicate her time solely to being a TV broadcaster.
The new movie that Razan is taking part in alongside Hani is in more ways than one a return to the seventies era of movies, that used to star Egyptian actors Moh’d Awad, Nour El Sherif, Yousef Fakhereldin, and Hassan Yousef.
The question remains, has Razan accepted the role in the second movie just to prove that she was the one to turn down the offer for the first one and therefore proving that she has got what it takes to be a good actress? A question that can only be answered when the new film is released and people can judge based on their opinions.
It was recently reported that Egyptian director Saed Hindawi had announced that Razan did not pull out of his film “Halit Hub”, but was rather stripped of the role for her lacking the talent to act. The director had at first put Razan under a number of acting tests and the end results were that she failed miserably and is not the least bit capable of acting.
Saed immediately removed Razan’s name from the cast of the film and replaced her with the actress Donia. It was previously rumored that Razan had made the decision to pull out of film due to the fact that she was unable to get a vacation from her previously scheduled television work. Razan was to begin shooting the scenes for the new film alongside Egyptian actors Hani Salama, Sharif Ramzi, and Tamer Husni.
The film's story is by Tamer, and deals with a social dilemma of a family that is separated due to divorce and the two sons are divided between the parents and live apart for a period of twenty years. When the family is united after such a long time, a culture clash occurs between the brothers due to their living in different environments and disputes occur when the two fall in love with the same girl, was previously to be played by Razan. The film deals with a critical issue that has become a common problem among Egyptian families today.
Razan denied circulating rumors that she is involved in a love relationship with Egyptian singer Tamer Husni. Razan stressed that what ties her with Tamer is a very good friendship and nothing more, adding that these rumors are all mere lies. The reason behind the creation of such rumors is due to the fact that on Razan’s last visit to Egypt she had met with Tamer and the two were seen together in public. Razan revealed that she is in fact involved in a serious relationship with someone, but it is not Tamer and she refuses to give out any details regarding his identity. - Albawaba.com
