The head of the Cairo International Film Festival, Hussein Fahmi, has rejected the application of the Egyptian actress Nabila Ebeid to participate in the October 9-23 event with her latest film Qasaqis Al Ushaq (Lovers Clippers), according to the Qatari daily Al Raya.
Fahmi, who appears in the film, said he made the decision based on a previous bad experience.
He said he was savaged by the press for participating in the 22nd festival he headed in 1998 with the film Ekhtifaa Jaafar Al Masri. Fahmi costarred in the film along with Noor Al Sharif and Raghda.
