CHART-TOPPING artist Craig David attracted a sell-out crowd at Klub 360 at the Elite Crystal Hotel, Juffair, on Friday night.
He previously performed in Bahrain with his band in 2003, however, Thursday's show, on the sidelines of the F1 race, was a little different as he showcased his DJ skills whilst also singing.
Presented by TS5, this performance style began at a house party he hosted at his home in Miami, where he was DJing, singing and having fun with his friends, the star told a Press conference ahead of the event.
It then turned into something more than just a house party, where people were booking him for shows in various places, which then led to a radio show with Capital Extra in the UK.
This has all circled round to Craig performing again in Bahrain along with other clubs around the world that ordinarily wouldn't be able to bring him to perform as a full concert due to budget constraints.
The British singer-songwriter expressed his delight at being able to DJ and sing to fans in Bahrain, and give them the opportunity to see him in performance mode, just without a full live band as he did in 2003.
"It's fantastic to have the opportunity to come back here with this, and I'm hyped up and excited to perform," Craig said.
"The performance is more my perception of music that has been overlooked over the years and songs that will make people reminisce, as they hear me singing over the songs."
With a career that stems from over a decade ago in 1999, Craig is happy to still be performing and is presently working on a new album to be released later this year.
"As an artist you are always three minutes away from writing that song that puts you back in a place where Pharrell or John Legend would be, as an artist if you write your own songs, you're always three minutes away and I love that analogy because it keeps me focused and determined that it's OK, you just have to be in the studio long enough to write the songs that get you there," he said.
"There's nothing quite like being a solo artist."
