Midriff-baring singer, Britney Spears will make her feature film debut as a straight-A student who reunites with two former friends on a cross-country road trip, her agent, Brian Swardstrom, said Wednesday.
The trio eventually competes in a musical contest, which supplies Spears' character with a chance to sing and dance.
The movie, tentatively known as The Untitled Britney Spears Project, will have a relatively low budget, by Hollywood standards, of $10 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, FOX news online reported that Spears will play a virtuous straight-A high-school student who goes on a road trip with two childhood friends, one of whom is a cheerleader and the other a "burnout." Along the way, they meet an aspiring musician who persuades the trio to go with him to Los Angeles to compete in a musical contest.
Spears, 19, began her career on Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club and has since done guest appearances on the TV shows Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and The Simpsons.
Her album Oops! ... I Did It Again has sold nearly 8 million copies. – Albawaba.com.
