Egyptian politician Amro Hamzawi, a member of the Egyptian People’s Council, has gotten married to Egyptian actress Basmah at one of Cairo’s ancient mosques.
The wedding ceremony was a private one in the presence of family members and very close friends. It is said that the media was prohibited from attending to film the event. Such strict measures were taken due to the nature of Hamzawi’s status. Despite all that, pictures of the event were leaked minutes after the wedding took place.
Basma and Hamzawi’s relationship began immediately after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution.
