Basma to Play Beautiful Mentally Retarded Girl

Egyptian young actress Basma has wrapped up shooting her first TV drama Al A’ayeq in which she plays a beautiful girl suffering from mental retardation, according to the Arabic daily Al Sharq Al Awsat. 

Basma plays Faten, the beautiful mentally retarded girl who, yet, falls in love with the young playboy Mohsen Al Maagabani (Played by Wael Noor) who whims romantic adventures.  

A girl (played by Abeer Sabri) attempts to seduce him through a well-organized plan but he discovers it after his wedding and tries to get rid of her. He fails to do so and the series continues with many comedy situations and paradoxes. 

The 7-episodes series written by Lenin Al Ramli, directed by Amr Abdeen. It will be aired during the second half of this Ramadan. 

However, Basma won the prize for best actress at the recent Alexandria Film Festival for her role in the film Al Na’amah Wal Tawoos (Ostrich and Peacock) – Albawaba.com
