The American University of Beirut has announced that it will award prominent Lebanese diva Fairouz an honorary PhD degree for her tremendous contributions throughout her career. She is considered the ambassador of all Lebanese singers and a role model.
Fairouz recently held a magical concert in Montreal, which drew Canadian, American, and European fans. Her performance was breathtaking and left the audience calling for more.
While in Canada, Fairouz recorded the new single “Baiti El Isgheer” (My Small House), written by her daughter Rima Al Rahbani and composed by Louise Gaste.
The single was produced by Planet of Performers Production Company, which also sponsored her concert.
The new single and a CD containing her greatest hits were offered at the performance, which came as a delightful surprise to her fans. Concert goers clutched photos of the diva and donned shirts displaying her picture as they gathered eagerly to catch a glimpse of the now Dr. Fairouz.
