Lebanese singer Assi Hilani was recently in Europe, where he spent a short vacation with his family to relax after he spent endless hours preparing for his upcoming album. The new album, which will hold the title “Dakat Qalbi” (My Heartbeats), features fourteen songs, mostly belonging to the romantic genre.
According to the London based Elaph, the album will mark the fruit of the first cooperation between Assi and his new production company ‘Art Line’.
Assi recently filmed a music video for the song “Sa’alo Anni” (They Asked About Me) under the direction of Saeed Al Marouq.
The new album is scheduled for release at the end of December along with the new music video. The clip will be aired on all satellite television channels, contrary to what was the case when the singer was with the production company Rotana, which demanded exclusivity of all its members’ music.
After a short absence from Lebanon during the war with Israel, Hilani returned home to his town of Al Hilanieh through Syria to check on his family and his mother specifically after the war ended.
Assi’s hometown as was the case with most villages in the South of Lebanon was subject to severe Israeli strikes and his family was forced to flee to Beirut to find safety.
During the war, Assi had held a number of performances in Egypt and Algeria in order to raise money for Lebanese victims.
Before the war had started, Assi had completed recording the songs for his album.
