Judicial sources in the Jordanian capital Amman have revealed that Lebanese singer Assi Hilani, whose real name is Mohammad Zein Hilani, has appeared before court after being charged with fraud. An American-Palestinian woman has filed a lawsuit against the singer and his business manager accusing them of defrauding her of US$ 46,000.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, the woman stressed that at one point, the singer had shown feelings for her and even promised to marry her. But once the singer took the money from the lady, he ran off and was never heard from again.
On another note, Hilani has recently held a charity concert at the Cairo Opera house for the Woman's Development Association Hayati project, in which all proceeds from the concert went to fund a new women's hospital.
Hilani has also announced that the controversy between him and his production company Rotana has finally ended. Hilani stressed that the disputes with Rotana were minor ones and were resolved in very little time. - Albawaba.com
