Syrian singer Asalah Nasri has moved on to a new team of composers after ceasing all contact with her former composer Mohammad Diaa El Din, who composed some of her most popular songs like "Ma Ba'ash Ana" (I Wouldn’t be Me). Asalah made her decision after Mohammad Diaa who was married to her sister divorced her.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Asalah said that the family situation makes it impossible for her to work with Mohammad. She added that she is not prepared to put her relationship with her sister on the line for El Din.

It was also added that Asalah is facing a number of marital problems with her husband. Close contacts to the couple have revealed that the two are heading for a possible divorce in the very near future.

Earlier last month, Nasri held her first performance ever in Sudan at a fairytale like private wedding. Asalah being the first Arab singer to perform in Sudan held a press conference in which she promised the audience that she would wear the traditional Sudanese dress while performing.

Asalah’s performance was a huge success as she delighted the audience, which consisted of a very large number of people with those outside being twice as many as those at the wedding, with many of her beautiful and popular songs.

The singer was delighted to have the chance to perform in Sudan especially with the strict restrictions placed by the government regarding Arab singers holding concerts in the country. Asalah felt her presence was a stepped towards uniting cultures and hopes she will have the chance once more to perform.

Asalah Nasri, the daughter of the well-known singer, Mustafa Nasri, began her singing career at the age of nine by focusing on national and children’ songs. Her quick rise to stardom dates from her early television appearances, the first of which was on the Lebanese TV program “Stars” produced by Jordanian Hasib Yousef. Further television appearances have made her a popular star all over the Arab World. -Albawaba.com
