The organizing committee for the upcoming Hala February Festival is undergoing negotiations with a number of actors, with the help of Kuwait's Ministry of Information, to take part in the events of the festival. Some of the events include giving out prizes, attending seminars, and finally attending live concerts that will be the highlight of the festival.
The Kuwaiti based daily, Al Qabas, reported that a member of the committee has revealed that agreement has been reached with Kuwait's television to hold personal interviews with the actors and singers and film the places they will be visiting especially due to the fact that they hold a large popularity in the Arab and Western world.
The daily added that preparations for the festival are so far very successful and on time as well as the number of companies and associations wishing to be sponsors are increasing day by day.
The expected Egyptian actors who will be attending the festival are Muna Zaki and her husband Ahmad Hilmi, Nour El Sherif and his wife Poussy, Mohammad Huneidi, and Mohammad Said.
With regards to the live concerts that will highlight the event the first will be on February 13 and not at the beginning of the festival. The committee felt that it was more appropriate to pay respect to the Muslim population the first ten days of the festival as it coincides with the time of Hajj (Muslim's pilgrimage to Mecca, one of the five pillars of Islam). After the 13th of the month a total of six concerts will take place with the participation of singers from all over the Arab world.
Kuwaiti singers Nawal, Nabil Shu'ail, Abdullah Ruwaishid, and Miami band will participate in the event. From the UAE Ahlam will perform as well as Mohammad Abdo, Abdul Majid Abdullah, and Rashid Al Majid from Saudi Arabia. Egyptian singers Amro Diab, Ehab Tawfiq, and Angham along with Thikra from Tunis will be making appearances.
On a similar note, UAE singer Hussain Al Jasami and Saudi singer Asil Abu Baker were prohibited from taking part in the festival due to the fact that they have not release any new albums recently. Next week will witness the completion of all selected candidates who will participate in the festival. –Albawaba.com
