Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury revealed that previous rumors regarding the possibility of him taking part in a new film alongside Hollywood superstar Antonio Bandares are true. Wael stressed that he does not wish to give out any details regarding the film at the moment, wanting to wait until an agreement is final between both sides.
According to the London based magazine, Laha, the actor had said that the rumor was not a joke while he was guest on the Lebanese Broadcasting Company (LBC) satellite channel weekly show “Sa’a Bi Kurb Al Habib” (An Hour By My Lover’s Side), adding that the matter is very serious and needs more time to be implemented.
Kfoury is currently experiencing the taste of success with his latest album released “Omry Kuluh” (All My Life), with record sale sky high. The singer had been away from the scenes for sometime but was able to make a strong comeback that marked a significant turn in his career.
Before the release of his album, the singer sent out an invitation to journalist for a press conference which he held in his hometown Zahla City in Lebanon om May 16, 2003. Wael felt it necessary to hold the press conference especially after the fact that he has been away from the scenes for two years. He made statements to the press explaining his disappearance, and stressed that he is confident that his new album will be the key for reviving his popularity that in the past years has mellowed down with the appearance of new singers to the scenes.
Wael had filmed the main song of the album "Umri Kuluh" under the direction of Mirna Abu Al Yas, which has been aired on satellite TV stations, and intends on filming a number of other songs in the form of music videos. The singer announced that a large budget has been set aside for the production of the music videos, which he hopes will meet the satisfaction of all viewers.
Wael added that there is no current dispute with his previous music production company "Studio Al Fan", where his singing career was launched. The singer had left Studio Al Fan and director Simon Asmar, who directed most of Wael's music videos in the past, and decided to go on his own and manage his career on his own, which turned out to be a huge mistake. It was apparent that Wael needed someone to guide him since after his decision his popularity died out. Wael stressed that he is still on excellent terms with his previous director Simon and will always consider him as role model and spiritual father. –Albawaba.com
