Producer Sami Adel expressed his intention making a movie based Thikra’s life under the title of “Suraya Al Sultan”, which is the name of the building the singer died in. The film will revolve around the life of Thikra from the beginning of her career and her life with her husband Aiman Al Sweidi up to the day he murdered her and committed suicide. Sami revealed that he plans on traveling to Tunisia in order to get permission from Thikra’s family to produce the film. The producer added that the film is a dedication to the memory of Thikra and he hopes to put an end to all the rumors that have been created about her.

Thikra passed away Friday November 28, 2003, after her Egyptian husband, businessman Aiman Al Swaidi, shot her in their home in Cairo. Aiman had also shot Thikra’s secretary, business manager and then shot himself and committed suicide. The only eyewitness at the murder scene was Thikra’s made who stated that she had overheard the couple get into a massive fight and once she ran to see what was going on she was in shock to see the four dead bodies laying in the living room.

Angham was also nominated by director Ahmad Yahia to star in the film "Al Shumoo' Al Sawdaa" (Black Candles), the same film that was originally made in the sixties and played by prominent Egyptian singer Najat and actor Saleh Salim, and had proved great success at the time. The film still enjoys a large popularity despite the passing of so many years since its making and was directed by Izz El Din Thu Al Fakar.

Angham has stressed that she has not accepted any offers to star in any film at the moment fearing that such a decision may negatively affect her singing career. The singer added that she did not receive any offer from Ahmad to star in the film, but has heard rumors that he had nominated her for the leading role.

Angham revealed that she does not think it is a wise idea to star in a film that was previously made even though it enjoys such a huge popularity, stressing that people will naturally compare both films and actors. Angham is sure that the comparison will be in the favor of the first film and not the remix since anything that is copied usually looses its genuine features.

Angham noted that she does not know when the time will come for her to enter the acting world, especially since she is extremely busy at the moment with her singing career that she has no time left for anything else. She added that the thought of thinking is on her mind and she will wait for the right moment and the right script to make her debut in, which may suddenly come out of the blue. -Albawaba.com
