The latest musical album for prominent Egyptian singer Amr Diab entitled “Laili wa Nahari” (My Night and Day) made significant changes in the record market in Egypt after hours of its release. The album is the first for Amr with his new production company Rotana and includes 10 songs.
Amr’s fans were queuing in front of record shops to get his new album while the Egyptian radios kept airing his new songs. This is the first album for Amr after a long 17-month absence.
This was not the case in Cairo only, but in most of the main cities around Egypt. In Alexandria, all record shops placed Amr's poster on the entrances and youth poured in to get the new cassette.
Some people say that the good quality of songs was the reason behind this success meanwhile others say its Amr's new look that shows him as if he is still in his mid-twenties was the reason behind it.
Rotana satellite channel started constantly broadcasting the video clip “Laili wa Nahari” to help promote the album. Diab had released his latest album, which is considered to be the fruit of his cooperation with Rotana. The company had launched a massive advertising campaign for Amr's album in Egypt and throughout the Arab World.
Amr's new album features ten new songs written and composed by some of the top names in the music industry. The singer revealed that he plans on choosing three new songs from the album in the form of a video clip. Rotana will hold a special launching ceremony for Amr in Beirut in the very near future. –Albawaba.com
