Prominent Egyptian singer Amr Diab has returned to working with music distributor Hameed Al Sha’eri and poets Majdi Al Najjar and Ameer Ta’eimah after a conciliation was made through the help of composer Amro Mustafa. A misunderstanding had occurred between Amr and the musicians in the past leading him to cutoff all contacts with them.
According to the London based daily, Asharq Al Awsat, problems had surfaced between the singer and his old team after the release of the album “Tamali Ma’ak”. Amr has already agreed to include songs by the composers and poets in his upcoming album, and is looking forward to renewing his corporation with the three men.
On a different note, Amr is steering away from his profession and will run for elections in the Egyptian Parliament, which will take place immediately after the Presidential elections. The singer has already began his new political campaign by going back to his hometown to try and win over the support of his people.
Amr will make the announcement of his election publicly in the upcoming few days. It is unpredictable if the singer will be able to defeat former parliament members, but he will depend on his popularity to win votes and is concentrating on the young generation.
Amr will fiercely compete with other members of parliament to try to win a seat and will do all that is needed to ensure his victory. The past ten years of the singer’s career have brought him enormous fame all over Egypt and abroad, which is the ticket Amr is relying on.
