Amr Diab denies running for Parliament

Renowned Egyptian singer Amr Diab denied circulating rumors that he plans on running for elections to become a member in the Egyptian Parliament. Amr revealed that he was in shock when he heard the news and could not understand why such a rumor came about.

 

According to the London based weekly, Laha, Amr stressed that he is extremely busy preparing for his upcoming album, that during this period the only people he sees are his team of composers and poets and refuses to talk to anyone else. Amr added that his ambitions lay only in his singing career and he never thought of concerning himself with politics in any way.

 

It was rumored that Amr is steering away from his profession and will run for elections in the Egyptian Parliament, which will take place immediately after the Presidential elections. Rumors added that the singer has already began his new political campaign by going back to his hometown to try and win over the support of his people.

 

Amr noted that he has not decided on all the songs for his new album yet, but revealed that he will be including a duet that is his surprise to all his fans. The singer added that the release date for the album will be during the summer season.
