Last week, Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi held a public concert in Syria that resulted in her fleeing the scene in tears. The singer had just walked on stage and performed only three songs as the crowd began stepping on the stage causing a riot, with the excuse of wanting to take pictures with the singer.
According to the London based Elaph, security guards were unable to control the scene that turned into a chaos due to the large number of people forcing the singer to rush through the backstage and make a run for it. Amal was in shock at the way people had reacted and began crying screaming "what is there no order?" After the incident, the singer refused to return on stage and made a run for it on the first plane available and flew to Kuwait where she is scheduled to hold a couple of performances.
Hijazi had held the live concert July 2, 2003 at the Union Club in Halab - Syria, and the invitation was open for the general public. Amal's outdoor concert was to feature her singing alongside singer Wadah Shalabi. The singer had previously expressed her joy at having the chance to sing to the Syrian audience, saying that she will put all her power in presenting them with an unforgettable evening, in which she will sing most of her latest releases.
Her album "Zaman" has gone beyond expectations in the number of breaking figures in the music market all over the world. The twelve-song album, produced by Universal Company in Paris, held two major surprises, the first, her duet with Fuedel, written by Fuedel and Tony Abi Karam, and the second with the duo Omar and Rafi.
