The legendary Syrian artist George Wasoof recently survived a horrific car accident while driving with his son Hatem near Al Vanisia hotel in Beirut. Al Wasoof and his son were not hurt, but his car was destroyed.
On other grounds, Al Wasoof denied rumors that he has converted to Islam.
Numerous pictures of Al Wasoof in which he is raising his hands in prayer, wearing “Khaliji” (Gulf countries) clothing have been circulating on the internet.
Al Wasoof said that he always believed that religion is found in the heart, away from publicity and the media, therefore such rumors should not be answered.
Al Wasoof, known as Abu Wadee, lives between his home country Syria and Lebanon.
