The head of the Egyptian Art Association, Munir Al Wasimi, has banned the famous Lebanese artist Carole Samaha from singing in Egypt. The decision came as a great shock to her beloved fans. Carole is considered to be one of the most talented singers in the industry since she began her 15-year singing career.
According to the London daily Elaph, Al Wasimi’s decision had a great effect on Ahmad Al Dasoqi, owner of “Good News for Music Production Company.” The company organized Carole’s concert at the Roman Theater in the Northern Shore area in Egypt. Al Dasoqi signed a contract with Carole to perform live on August 22nd. She will be allowed to perform at the concert, since she is not officially banned until the 23rd.
Such a decision will have a negative effect on the company, said Al Dasoqi.
Al Dasoqi was shocked and saddened by Al Wasimi decision, especially since Carole is so well-respected singer and had previously been accused of singing in a provocative manner.
Photographs recently published in the Egyptian ‘Wafed’ newspaper have badly affected Carole’s image, which she worked hard to achieve.
The photographs were taken at Carole’s recent concert at the Marina in Egypt. She appeared almost nude during her performance.
The incident led the association leader to take the shocking decision. Al Wasimi said that he needs to protect the art of singing, considered to be one of the most prestigious careers.
Al Dasoqi said that he will hold a meeting with Al Wasimi and the Lebanese artist to try and reconcile.
