Egyptian's rising star, Ahmed Al Saqqa, is currently reading the script for the new film Ibrahim Al Abyad (Ibrahim the White), in which he will take a lead role along with Yusra, according to the Arabic daily Al Bayan.
The film, scripted by Abbas Abul Hassan, is a romance. Director Marwan Wahid will begin shooting the film next January.
Saqqa is also gearing up for another film to be directed by Medhat Al Adel, who will begin shooting next July.
The young actor has recently visited the UAE for the screening of his latest film, Africano, in which he costarred along with Muna Zaki.
“Africano was an important experience to me, through which I wanted the world to know that we can make films of the same quality as those produced in Hollywood. What we need is just equipment, cameras, and good editing in order to secure good quality via images or music,” Saqqa told the daily.
Saqqa recently won the award for best actor for his film Short Wa Fanillah Wa Kab (Shorts, Undershirt and Gown) at the Egyptian National Film Festival, at which Yousra won best actress for her film Al Assifa (The Storm) - Albawaba.com
