The script for the new film "Qisit Hub" (A Love Story) that will be starring Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki and Lebanese singer Majida Al Roumi, has finally gone into its final stages of completion and implementation. Producer Mai Mashal agreed on the scenario of the film with Ahmad and script writer Bashir El Deek after extensive working sessions.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, shooting of scenes for the film is scheduled to begin in two months at the most. It was noted that previous plans to complete the film were postponed several times and at one point it was cancelled completely. Ahmad was successful in convincing Majida to costar with him in the film, as he sees it a potential opportunity for a very successful movie.
In January, Ahmad had backed out of the film "Al Andalib" portraying the life of the late Egyptian icon Abdul Halim Hafez, in turn canceling all plans to complete the film by the production company that had adopted it. One of the main reasons the film came to a halt is that production was delayed one too many time and simply the actor gave up.
On a different note, last year, Zaki called on all the Arab stars to play a more positive role in expressing their opinion toward the political events that are taking place worldwide. "Why don't we all agree on producing a movie that tackles the Palestinian issue," said Zaki, who showed willingness to take part in such movies even if his participation would be limited to one scene only.
Majida called on all Arab artists to unite and give support to the suffering Iraqi people during the US-led attack on Iraq, after holding a charity concert in Cairo. The singer expressed that this is the main message all Arabs should convey by holding concerts in times of war to show the world the true suffering the Iraqi people are undergoing, and in order to bring to life the idea of Arab solidarity. Majda said that she had previously sung for Lebanon, Kuwait, Algeria, Palestine and most recently Iraq in their times of war, to express her support and compassion.
The singer added that Egypt has always been the first in line among other Arab states to call for peace and security. Majida noted that she never feels like a stranger while in Egypt, for its people make you feel at home and part of them.
Majida was in Egypt, where she held charity concert at the Cairo Opera House, of which part of the proceeds were donated to the building of a new children's hospital specializing in the treatment of cancer. –Albawaba.com
