Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Sakka has agreed to play the leading role in the new film “Cairo Beirut,” ushering in his return to action films. Ahmad plays the role of a journalist in the film, based on the most recent war between Lebanon and Israel.
Ahmad has refused to be solely characterized as an action hero, asserting that he has the ability to play any role he is given.
Previously, Ahmad decided that “The Italian War” would be his last action movie, due to the numerous injuries he has sustained while filming. The actor has always insisted on performing his own stunts, and has undergone several surgeries and suffered broken bones as a result.
Ahmad said he had come to the realization that action movies were no longer lucrative, and he would change his style of films.
