Egyptian actor Noor al Sherif revealed that he was embarking on shooting a film based on the novel Thakeret al Jasad (Body Memory) by the Algerian writer Ahlam Mosteaghanemi under the direction of Khaled Yousef, according to the UAE daily al Bayan.
Sherif pointed out that his new film would be shot in Algeries, Paris and Beirut before the end of this year. He reiterated that he was working on three film projects and had not been influenced by the commercial failure of his film al A’shiqan (Two Lovers) which marked his debut in direction.
The renowned actor who is currently in Algeria along with the National Theater Troupe to stage the play Lan Tasqot al Quds (Jerusalem Won’t Fall) confirmed that the proceeds to be generated from the play would be allocated to support the Palestinian Intifada. He announced that the troupe would head soon for Jordan, Kuwait and UAE to stage the play.
“Art sometimes cannot depict the magnitude of the plight. We lost Jerusalem many times but that was an exceptional case and we should raise the banners that refuse the crisis and fall,” said Sherif refusing normalization with Israel.
However, the Egyptian National Troupe has staged the play Lan Tasqot al Quds in three Algerian major cities including Wahran, Annabah, and the capital Algiers and the audience was big -- Albawaba.com
