The number of Arab Radio and TV works presented to the eighth Cairo Festival for the various contests for this year reached 400.
The festival management received final applications from 17 international technology and communication companies to book wings at the equipment market and apparatuses expo which will be organized on the sidelines of the festival during the period between July 6-10.
The festival’s head, Hasan Hamed, told the daily al Sharq al Awsat, “these companies represent France, Britain, USA and Japan.”
He indicated that the Festival’s Higher Committee decided that the guests should stay at the Media Production City hotel, which has been equipped for that purpose and has become ready to receive large delegations.
“The committee decided the opening ceremony to be performed at the new Media Production City Theater. The ceremony includes a major play that salutes the Palestinian resistance under the direction of Samir al Saffouri,” added Hamed indicating that preparations were underway to make the optimal use of the new stage which has been equipped with the state of the art equipment.
