The prominent Egyptian musician Hani Shenouda formed a musical troupe named al Ahlam (dreams) which has recently been accredited by the Egyptian Radio Corporation to mark the first Egyptian troupe to be established since a long time.
Musician Shenouda formed around 25 years ago the most famous art troupe at the time, named al Misriyyin (the Egyptians) but it was discontinued.
The new troupe is comprised of four members including Noor Qadri, Yasmin Jamal, Tareq Emad and Osama Fuad.
“The troupe will never be an extension of the famous al Misriyyin Troupe because it has been involved in a special type of experience. After 25 years time spurs us to indulge in a different type of experience,” Shenouda told the London-based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
And why it took him too long to form a new troupe, Shenouda explained, “the unavailability of a harmonious art models was the reason,” indicating that “there may be unique art elements but these are individual. To find a group with humanitarian harmony is an extremely difficult affair.”
The troupe is currently gearing up for the first special album to be composed completely by Shenouda and to consist of 11 songs including all forms of romantic, pop, rhythmic and disco songs. Shenouda will also shoot along with his troupe members one the album songs entitled Enta Shouf Bekallem Min (look whom you are talking to) in a video clip style so that its performance will be synchronous with its release in the markets -- Albawaba.com
