ENOC brought back five UAE nationals who were living on welfare into the workforce by providing them with a two-month training programme designed to build their skills, motivate them, enhance their work ethics, and mould them as potential job candidates through a programme called Masiraty.

The trainees were given a certificate at a graduation ceremony held by ENOC last week, upon the successful completion of Masiraty.

ENOC joined hands with the Ministry of Social Affairs for the programme with the Ministry nominating the UAE nationals, to complete their apprenticeship at various ENOC departments. The initiative underlines ENOC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy to encourage businesses to further contribute to the community.

The progress of each participant was regularly evaluated by the mentors and trainers at ENOC’s Learning and Development Department. The learning and development modules of the programme covered subjects including basic computer skills, English language, problem solving, team building, presentation skills and communication skills.

Saif Al Falasi, ENOC’s Group General Manager, said that Masiraty is about providing hope for a better future to less privileged individuals within the community. “At ENOC, we believe that individuals are the building blocks of any community and the force behind the growth of an economy. We see it as our responsibility to invest in these individuals for the development and growth of the economy. “

Laila Ahmed, one of the participants said, “I thank ENOC for introducing such a beneficial programme which has boosted my confidence through the training on communication and computer skills. I hope many more people in the UAE will benefit from such a programme as it opens doors to new career opportunities.”

ENOC is a strong proponent of community development initiatives. The group launched ENOC Challenge, an annual programme aimed at providing disadvantaged youngsters with a unique opportunity to acquire critical professional skills and embark on challenging new careers. Last year’s programme trained 20 disadvantaged candidates including special needs youth over a three-month period.
