ALBAWABA - The Saudi sprinter and national team player, Yara Abu Al-Jadayel, won the qualification card to participate in the 100-meter race in the World Athletics Championships, which is being held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, this August.

Abu Al-Jadayel, under the supervision of Hamdan Al-Bishi, has been consistently preparing for this upcoming event since May. She has participated in the Arab Championship in Morocco as well as the Arab Games in Algeria.

Currently, she is attending a training camp with the national team in Spain and aims to hopefully break her record in the next world championship, and gain experience from competing with some of the best players in the world.

The Athletics Federation encouraged her on their official account on “X” (previously knowns as Twitter), by saying: “Good luck, champion.”

Abu Al-Jadayel has participated in several competitions such as the 15th Arab Sports Championship, where she achieved sixth place in the 200 meters and 400 meters semi-final. However, the upcoming world championship is her first at this level of competition.

She has also contributed to the women's team that represented Saudi Arabia at the 2018 Asian Games, and at that time broke the record for the 100-meter race, in addition to her joining the Kingdom's championship and winning 3 gold medals.

The 24 years old has already achieved a lot in her young life, and taking part in the upcoming world championship is another achievement.

It is noteworthy that Yara Abu Al-Jadayel had registered herself as the athletics champion in the list of the Saudi national team participating in the West Asian Championship, which concluded last April in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Women's sports in Saudi Arabia are witnessing a boom, especially in recent times, as women's participation in sports activities has started to increase.

Women, whether they are just beginners in sports or professionals performing fitness exercises, seek to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. This high turnout is due to many factors, including increased awareness of the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle, increased opportunities to participate in various sporting activities, in addition to the presence of many influential and inspiring personalities in this vast field.
