Revered as a Gulfi fashion icon and one of the most glamorous first ladies in the region, Sheika Mozah (full name Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned) seemed to be comfortable with her spot in the limelight as the First Lady of Qatar.
Second wife to the recently abdicated Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Mozah has forged a career for herself as an international do-gooder. Since becoming Her Highness, Mozah's CV has reached lofty heights - among other positions, she is Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and the Chairperson of the Arab Democracy Foundation. Recognised for her activism, she was also made UNESCO's Special Envoy for Basic and Higher Education in 2003.
Clearly relishing her role as one of Qatar's first ladies, Mozah has gained recognition as being an active presence in Qatar's government and has been a leading figure in Qatari society. She's even been named as one of Forbes' 100 Most Powerful Women, nabbing the #75 spot.
Not only is she a powerful force in society, she's also famed for her fashion, and has inspired many a fan website dedicated to her personal style.
It's not only her fashion that has Qatari's enthralled - Mozah has the personal accolade of deterring Qatari men from talking about the World Cup, gas and business prospects, distracting them with her delectable derriere (rumours of bum op rife).
So now that her husband's time in the throne is up, will Mozah fade into the background? No doubt she'll still be on the scene, as she is mother of the new Qatari emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. But what for her future?
Will Mozah be a victim of the same preference for young faces that allegedly prompted her husband to give up his title? We can't imagine this feisty first lady giving the reigns of public adoration to one of her son's wives without a fight.
