If, when you think of Sweden, you are imagining a peaceful country with a penchant for home furnishing (a la Ikea) and pickled herring, think again! It turns out there's been trouble a-foot in Stockholm after someone threw a handful of pig trotters through a Mosque window.
Police were summoned to the scene of the crime early last week in response to a vandalism complaint - someone had smashed the Mosque windows and lobbed in a bunch of pig trotters, The Liberty Digest reported last week.
A traditional Christmas dish in Sweden, this projectile pork may have had some malice behind it - in Islam, pork meat is considered to be impure and it is a sin for Muslims to binge on bacon.
“We have classified this as an act of vandalism,” police official Ulf Lindgren said, according to The Liberty Digest. “But insofar as it is pig’s trotters, it could be something else.”
