Celebrate Ramadan at BurJuman

BurJuman wishes its visitors ‘Ramadan Kareem’ with a special calendar of seasonal activities all through August in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Shoppers will be able to experience traditional hospitality every evening at the majlis tent set up for the first 16 days of Ramadan at the mall’s Observatory area, where they can enjoy complimentary aromatic Arabic coffee and dates from Iftar onwards.

Ramadan entertainment, including daily evening games such as chess and tawla (backgammon) and traditional oud music performed live every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening will also be available for the enjoyment of individuals and families visiting the tent. 

For the second half of the Holy Month, the Ramadan tent will move to BurJuman’s North Wing, spreading the season’s festivities throughout the mall. Coffee and dates will be offered to guests visiting the tent, with live music performances in the mall’s South Wing continuing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.

During Ramadan visitors can also get a glimpse into the culture and history of the Middle East. BurJuman and the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture & Heritage are offering visitors a chance to do just that by presenting a fascinating exhibition of Arabic manuscripts and calligraphy in the mall’s South Wing. Visitors will be able to view a series of rare, ancient manuscripts and old magazines including an 11^th century copy of the Holy Quran, medical texts from the 12^th century and literary and other manuscripts from as early as the 15^th century. A series of photographs will also depict achievements in medicine, science and music from across the Muslim world.

The mall is also encouraging shoppers to embrace the season’s spirit of giving with a donation drive called ‘Gift the Joys of Eid to Needy Kids’ run in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent Society from August 1-27. BurJuman will set up cash collection boxes across the mall, with all monetary collections utilized to buy clothes and toys as gifts for underprivileged children in the UAE.

Shoppers will also be able to enjoy shopping rewards with a festive raffle promotion running from August 18 - September 7, in collaboration with Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) and Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG). The raffle entry is open to every shopper spending AED 200 at the mall and will see one winner drive off in a BMW every week.
