Iran's Majlis Speaker Mehdi Karroubi on Saturday said that over 33,000 MWs of power is currently being produced across the country.

Speaking at a gathering of the staff and managers of Masjed Soleiman dam power plant, Karroubi conveyed that before the 1979 Islamic Revolution the nationwide power production amounted to just 7,000 MWs.

"Once President Mohammad Khatami took office, over 22,000 MWs of power was annually produced in the country, which has now been increased to 33,000 MWs," he added, according to IRNA

He expressed hope that the figure would rise to 36,000 MWs in a year. (menareport.com)
