The former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, has had his name embroidered into the pinstripes of his suit, The Daily Mail reported. The report says the fabric would have taken around three months to weave, with a two-piece costing in the region of £10,000, according to cloth manufacturer Holland & Sherry, which makes bespoke pinstripes.
On its part, The Sun revealed tiny white letters spelling out ‘Hosny Mubarak' — an alternative spelling of the former president's name — over and over again to form the vertical stripes. Mubarak was seen wearing the garment shortly before he stepped down.
There were mix reactions in Egypt regarding this suit. Some commented on by saying that this is normal and that many of the Arab rulers and kings like to have this kind of things. Others said this issue does not deserve all this attention. Meanwhile others suggested that this indicates that Mubarak was feeling too confident and arrogant.
Some others Egyptian who reacted to this issue during a TV Show, ridiculed the topic, saying that Mubarak may have feared the suit would be stolen from him so he wrote his name on it….
